When I was young, about 5 years old, I envied people with crutches. I thought oh wow that looks like fun swinging on those 2 sticks. So I would jump out of the tree that I knew was a little too high asking my mom if it was ok to break my leg.
Now looking back I dont know why I would ever want crutches.I have always loved to ski. When I was in 8th or 9th grade i was going skiing with my friend Anna. She freaked herself out because we skiied on black diamond run and fell and broke her ankle. She got to ride in the tabogin with the ski patrol. I wouldnt say i was jealous but I did think it looked kinda fun t ride down behind a snowmobile.
Now looking back I wonder why I wanted to ride in a tabogin that only injured people ride in.When I was a junior in high school I decided to start snowboarding. It looked challenging but fun. So i gave it a try. It is so fun and I love it. I soon came to realize that doing the park- going off jumps, trying boxing and rails, wasnt all that hard and you dont have to be a professional to do it.
Now looking back I dont know why I wanted to be like the crazies going off huge jumps and doing tricks...well actually....I am still a little jealous of them. You are probably wondering- ok what are you rambling on about. I love skiing and snowboarding, actually teach lessons at Brianhead and would recommend it to anyone cuz its a blast! But do NOT wish for things you dont really want.
On Thursday I was snowboarding and I actually did my first board grab (which is like the first thing I've learned how to do and land besides just going off the jump). I continued through the park and went off the next jump. I freaked myself out (dumbest thing you can do) cuz i got more air than ever and cRaShEd down landing terribly. A boy snowboarded over and asked if I was okay. I said no and was just screaming and trying to remember how to breath. The ski patrol got there amazingly fast, took my snowboard off and helped me into the tabogin. I got wheelchaired over tot he clinic and got checked out.

You are a crack up! I'm glad you are feeling better and hope you can recover so you can try some more cool tricks!
OUCH! I know a little of what you feel like. When me and Ken were seniors in HS we sluffed and went skiing. On the first time down I fell and pulled the ligaments in my right knee. It was more painful then a break. Good Luck and be careful!
Wow - that has got to suck! I'm so sorry you're in pain... hang in there!!!! =0)
Sharlene you are so funny! I'm sorry you got hurt, but I'm glad you didn't break your leg. Enjoy the crutches he he! I actually tore my ACL skiing so I know what it's like to have a bad fall.
