Matthew Allen Romero and Sharlene are ENGAGED!!!

We are GETTING MARRIED!! I am the luckiest girl alive! It was a surprise proposal on Friday, October 9th. Not a surprise that we wanted to marry each other but he lives in Orem and told me he couldnt get work off and had lots of homework so he couldnt come to cedar city this weekend. I was a little bummed...but little did i know not only was he coming to cedar but he had a LOT planned.

I have to preface my story though: Matt and I have known each other for a long time! We were in the same 2nd grade class! But we didnt really like each other until 7th grade

Anyways... so we dated our Junior and Senior year in high school. To avoid getting too serious we decided to only go to Sadies and Prom and go to the other dances with other people but when prom came he asked someone else...I was sad and he ended up not going at all and i went with someone else because I was sad he didnt ask me.

Then on Friday last week I was sitting in my bedroom eating Wingers and watching Wedding Planner by myself when my roommate Kady came in to make sure I was ok my first weekend without Matt since he's been home from his mission. Then this guy called and said he's coming to "kid-nap" us to raise money fro breast cancer (If we raise enough money they let us free) I was NOT in the mood but finally they got me to put a dress on and get in the car. We were blind folded and led all over and I had no idea what was going on except for I hoped this fundraiser was short! (Also a note to know: I always make wishes at 11:11 and kiss the clock- it works try it!)

So at 11:11 PM Nick and Kady both let go of me and I was blind folded and confused. Then I heard a whisper in my ear, "Shar it's 11:11 make a wish!!" from Matts voice! I was like "shut up!" and ripped off the blind fold. I couldnt believe he came down, and then I couldnt believe what I saw! Look how surprised I look in the picture.

He and my Alpha Phi sisters and friends had the church gym decorated all like prom with blue and gold balloons, stars, confetti, christmas lights, signs and music playing! Matt got down on his knee and said, "I made a mistake in High school when i didnt ask you to prom and I'll probably make a lot more mistakes in our life but you are the only person I want to spend eternity making it up to. Sharlene Witt will you marry me?" I teared up a little because it was so beautiful! I OF COURSE said "YES!!" and jumped into his arms and hugged and kissed him.

He put the most beautiful ring on my finger and I know he loves me so much. I love him and he is so cute and thoughtful.
We are SO HAPPY and excited!

I have the best roommates, sisters and friends!! THanks girls for coming and helping. We are getting married on January 16th so save the date!

We danced to our song and it was the best night ever!! I LOVE you Matt!
