Day 1 in Mexico

Today has been an intersting day! I like it a lot! My first flight from slc to vegas went perfectly, after a few tears and dollars my flight to monterrey was good too. Airplanes and airports are pretty cool not too scary. I liked it. I am so thankful for Daniela my "i link" buddy that was set up from the school. She picked me up from the airport and helped me change my money from dollars to pesos. We had some good conversations in spanish and english. its so crazy- i´ve spoken more spanish today than my whole life combined. I like it a lot. We drove to my hotel (Monterroco Hostel) and saw a lot of the city. Its so different- more trees, more humidity, the houses are not so nice, the streets and drivers are freakier, the stop lights are so cool and flash if they are about to change colors. I really like this hotel its like a house. The girls little dorm has 4 bunkbeds. There are SO many exchange students that come to this scool- UDEM and also monterrey Tech. I´ve met people from france, austrailia, finland, belgium, mexico, new york, lots from france actually. So the conversations are half spanish, half french and half english. The people are SOO nice and always kiss on one cheek when you come and leave. We got drinks at the gas station, ate dinner. People smoked and drank at the dinner table so that was different but its cool getting to know people. The owner of this place is so cool. Then Daniela and i went to a party and i met some of the people i´ve met on facebook and lots of cool friends. I´m glad Daniela doesn´t drink. I´ve been trying to speak a lot of spanish. its really hard! I am So tired so i cant add pictures! Sorry I couldn´t call mom and dad, my phone doesn´t work. weird i know...I love you so much!! they have different keyboards here. and green taxi´s. Thats all for today folks!
